The August Collective is organizing the North American Anarchist Conference, scheduled for August 11th to 13th. The primary focus of the NAAC will be the intellectual, philosophical, theoretical, technical and spiritual advancement of anarchism as a political theory/ideology/practice, focusing on the analysis and evaluation of the current state of anarchism as a viable political theory and practice. The conference will also host events for curious non-anarchists.
People involved in organizing the NAAC are being actively monitored by the FBI, Department of Defense, and possibly other police agencies. The organizers will describe the incidents and answer questions regarding political repression.
Organizers will present the agenda of the Conference and address concerns that developed regarding the Conference and its relationship to protests planned for the Democratic National Convention.
